Incorrigo Syx - Network Legit Statement

This is a statement for new users or clients, as an affirmation of our level and - of course - legitimacy

Our Infrastructure

• Genuine TLS: We use "real" TLS certification. All servers enforce encrypted connections, and plaintext is discouraged or disallowed entirely where relevant. You would have to go out your way to make a plaintext connection, otherwise it will be re-routed
• Channel & Private Message Governance: If you want to ban all users with unsecure connection from joining your channel or speaking with you privately, we support the [channel / account owner's decision is final] approach. There's no accounting for our integrity
• Strict STS Policy: Our network advertises aStrict Transport Security (STS) policy [with 92 hours cache duration] to reinforce the practice of secure connections
• Load Balanced: irc.incorrigo.io is the kind of spinning DNS you would expect from any IRC network, upon which even the server to use for our web browser client is load balanced
• Proprietary Infrastructure: All core servers are operated by us - for full sovereignty - and their policies / configuration structure co-incide identical
• Network Configuration: Apart from exact things like IP and server identification details, all of our servers are identically configured which means you could connect to any one of them and they will still provide the same session experience
• Persistent Uptime: Everything is up and running 24h. If any it goes down, the response time is quick. Preventative measures are built into our procedure of doing things, which makes such problems unlikely

Services & Security

• nickserv, chanserv, botserv, hostserv, memoserv: Nickname and channel registration are fast, persistent, and reliable. Not to mention fully automated so you don't need us to get yourself established with a user account
• Solid Services: We use a tightly maintained services database with enforced backups and lockstep updates to prevent desync or corruption. Your nickname and channel settings aren't going to disappear just because we've run an update
• Persistent Settings: Whether it's the channel redirect +L #channelname link, or your +I channel invite list; all your settings, your modelocks, your channel's /ACCESS list, your channel's mode +f flood protection profile. Your settings and lists will be preserved and enforced, even when you're not there
• Services Channel Bots: Our services deploy botserv channel bots - a selection of channel bots which a founder can assign to their channel. This bot will become activated in your channel when 1 user joins, sets and controls the things normally taken care of by chanserv, and provides you with extra features and featurettes like custom badwords control and more conditional channel kick/ban operations
• Secure Connections: We use TLS for all connections. We also use a strict STS policy to ensure that all connections are encrypted
• Advanced OpSec: Providing channel mode +z and user mode +Z protect messages from undermining connection security by refusing to relay any of them. Registered nickname passwords are deliberately not kept (just the result of an algorithm that can only be reached by a correct password) so even we are unable to look at your password (and we will never EVER ask you for it!) DCC file blocking of certain file extensions to prevent the spread of malware. A purpose made mIRC script with security written straight into the client. Centralised network banning architecture that blocks threats from bots / compromised machines before they've even reached our platform yet
• Spam & Drone Defences: We pick up on new threats quickly (ban AI) so that, by the time they come around to using it on our network, all their best proxies are wasted and distributed between like minded IRC network which are invaluable an asset
• SASL Incentives: People who log in using SASL will not be processed by all the checks that we run on incoming connections. Even when the network is in emergency mode for any reason, using SASL to connect bypasses all that and lets you connect as normal

Are We Legit?

This is an ongoing actively maintained platform that has been going on for years. This is the IRC network we always wished existed — secure, elegant, extensible, and user-focused. Obviously the commitment is made but it all starts with you

As your understanding and knowledge of our network (or IRC in general) broadens, you might want to specify a different page; even though multiple channels can be joined at the same time
