What is IRC, and what is it used for?

Incorrigo Syx is an IRC network. You send text to a server, and it passes the message to the recipient. Which is either another user or a channel that can be a list of people

You are known only by a 1 word identity called a nickname and can interact with other users either directly or in channels; a group chat of an indeterminate size

The server takes a message and sends it to the destination, you are not connected directly to each other

Because Incorrigo Syx is not an instant messaging app, users on a vast variety of IRC software, on any platform, using any [sized] device; can connect to this network of text relay servers; and interact with one another in real time

The difference between IRC and other forms of instant messaging is pretty huge

Even though lots of people can be on the same channel with you at the same time, only those people will receive the message you send. Although message replies are possible, nothing is kept for you to scroll through that happened in the past; moreover a channel operator has the control over who gets to be in the conversation to begin with

What are you meant to do if you're brand new?

People connect using an app called an IRC client. For windows desktop users, and when testing things out, we use mIRC But if you haven't chosen one yet / or just don't have time to install one on the device you're using, you can use our web browser version [kiwi irc] which works on any [sized] device, straight from your browser. If your device has a small screen size like an handset, the site portal is automatically redirected to our web chat

All messages are end-to-end encrypted, between you and the server, from the server to recipient(s). User IP and addresses are either cloaked or completely fake, so your address is still unique to you but it can't be used to connect to you over the internet. Nonw of the activities on an IRC network are sent directly. The server (and the recipient(s) server) relays things from peer to peer
